Fishing Bridge RV Park

June 18, 1998

It was another rainy day. It rains a lot in Yellowstone, even in the summer! We had planned to go fishing, but the rain was too heavy. Instead, we stayed inside and studied with the Yellowstone CDROM, and made our own model of a geyser. We also watched some Bill Nye videos on evolution and germs.

It was fun to make the working model of the geyser. We learned about how the plumbing in a geyser works, making different types. Long, narrow plumbing makes the tallest eruptions. Short, wide plumbing makes hot springs.

The weather cleared up enough for us to go out for a short bike ride. We went to the Fishing Bridge visitor's center and learned about the many different kinds of wildlife that are in Yellowstone. The river otters and muskrats were the cutest. Just as we left the visitor's center, we actually saw a cute little otter just off Fishing Bridge! It was making a cute little chirping sound as it swam around.

We rode bikes around for a while. Rob and Amanda rode to the Post Office. While we were out, the rain came back. We were all soaked by the time we got back to the LV. Yellowstone weather sure does change a lot!
